ICISF wishes everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year!

This eNewsletter contains 3 topics:

Topic 1- Substance Abuse Crisis Response -

 New Specialty Curriculum Track


ICISF is pleased to announce the addition of the Substance Abuse Crisis Response Specialty to the Certificate of Specialized Training Program.

Each of the six specialty curriculum tracks require the completion of the following four core classes:

  • CISM: Group Crisis Intervention
  • CISM: Advanced Group Crisis Intervention
  • CISM: Indivdiual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support
  • Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention

Addtionally, each of the six specialty curriculum tracks require completion of two specialty classes. For the Substance Abuse Crisis Response program track, two completed classes are required from the following:

  • Critical Incidents, Trauma and Substance Abuse: Preventing Self Medication
  • Early Intervention and Crisis Response in EAP and Behavioral Healthcare Settings
  • Stress Management for the Trauma Provider

Each of the six specialty curriculum tracks also require the completion of one 2-day or two 1-day elective classes.

Topic 2- Boston, MA Regional Conference- May 19-22, 2005


Fallon Ambulance once again will host the ICISF conference in Braintree, MA.

Visit the New England area in the spring and attend up to three classes.
